Study Hall is now in session! This long running comedy show mixes real lectures with improv comedy to create a show that is both entertaining and educational! Guests from all walks of life will lecture on a topic they are familiar with after which our cast of amazing improvisers will use what they learned (or didn't learn) to create hilarious scenes right before your eyes! CHIP CHANTRY: Chip Chantry is a stand up comedian and television writer. He has written for Crazy Talk, a comedy/talk series for NBC Universal and the syndicated series Whacked Out Sports. He most recently wrote on the NatGeo series Howie Mandel’s Animals Doing Things. Chip was the winner of 2013’s Philly’s Phunniest Contest at Helium Comedy Club, where he was a regular performer. Chip also won the “Funniest Comedian” award in Philadelphia’s annual Comedy Awards in both 2012 and 2014, and was named Best Comedian 2018 by Philadelphia Magazine. ALEXIS PEDRICK: As director of digital engagement at the Science History Institute, Alexis oversees their award-winning Distillations digital content platform, which includes building out a strategic vision for their magazine, podcasts, and social media storytelling. She is also the cohost of the Distillations podcast and is well-known for her lively history talks and tours in Philadelphia. You can occasionally see her nerding out on episodes of Mysteries of the Abandoned.
MICHAEL YUDELL: Michael public health expert, author, a Vice Dean & Professor in the College of Health Solutions at Arizona State University and a founding member of Study Hall. Michael Yudell is public health ethicist and award-winning historian whose work focuses on the history and ethics of genomics, the history of the race concept, and the history and ethics of autism research. Yudell received his PhD and MPH from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University, an MPhil in U.S. History from the Graduate Center at the City University of New York, and his BA in History and Soviet and Eastern European Studies from Tufts University. During graduate school, Michael was also a Graduate Researcher in the Molecular Biology Laboratory at the American Museum of Natural History and a Health Policy Analyst at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.
