SUBTEXT takes their inspiration from a book and turns it upside-down, creating a whole new crazy world with characters and situations the real author certainly never imagined ... or maybe they did, because Subtext's version of the author arrives to let us know.

FUTURE GHOST combines the serious and silly into one show, featuring both grounded scene work and zany antics. You’ll laugh, but you might also feel yourself moved by the poignancy of life and relationship. Each show is inspired by an audience suggestion, completely made-up on the spot, and filled with heart and hilarity. Will you experience a beautiful fantasy, comedic tomfoolery, or both? What If Theatre is dedicated to the art of improvisational theatre - which is a fancy way of saying, we do improvised plays. Not everything we do is funny. We aim for authenticity, but the truth comes first. The funny thing is, that usually means that humor is close on its heels.
We feature a variety of improv from the Denver area in addition to performing our own acts - and we welcome storytelling, magic, sketch, and other acts on our stage.
