Description

Live at Union Square presents another night of live original Australian music with:
THE BEDRIDDEN:
The Bedridden formed in Canberra in 1989. Since then, they have mastered their particular version of acoustic indy folk-punk and delivered it to a cold and uninterested world over a series of wild rides they like to call their albums.

They have mutated and grown through a myriad of confusing  lineup changes, managing to put out 6 albums, sometimes acclaimed but rarely understood.

Their current lineup, David M. Lewis, Razz Mussen and Alex Miller, is their most streamlined yet, with each member managing to stick mainly to one or two instruments each.

Their all- acoustic approach and occasional use of beautiful 3-part harmony may bring tears to the eye, but their banshee wails and gnashing of teeth has been known to bring tears of a totally different sort to the other eye soon after, so be warned, these guys don’t stick to any semblance of a lane.

LILITH LANE:
a songwriter, musician and music producer born in Geelong of the Wathaurang region, near the Australian city of Melbourne/Naarm. She grew up in regional Victoria and moved to the capital after finishing high school.  A self-taught musician and songwriter, she has toured internationally with solo and band projects; appeared as a guest on national television show RocKwiz duetting with Tim Finn (Split Enz, Crowded House); played solo supports for Australian songwriting royalty Robert Forster (Go Betweens) & Stephen Cummings (Sports), been nominated for Best Female Artist in the Age EG awards; and contributed to a number of projects as a session player.

Her most recent album release was a collection of piano and guitar based acoustic recordings, Trickery. This follows 3 full-band solo album releases and is a departure from the jangling guitars and full-band sound of her previous album Pilgrim orGold Diamond which played homage to strings and piano. Her debut self-titled record is a roots, folk album that was warmly received by the local music industry. Her side-project and alter-ego Baxter Avalon is a synth-pop retro wave high energy performance and recording project.

She is a member of Les Yé-Yé Girls, a 60’s French pop collective, and has toured in the UK and EU as a member of Black Pony Express (Beast Records) and the Cliffy Davis Goodtime Band. As a session player Lilith has performed at stadiums around the country for the Countdown Spectacular, and contributed vocals to projects by Stephen Cummings, Four Hours Sleep, Angie Hart, Clinkerfield, the Ukeladies, Horsestories, George Byrne, the Devastations and others.

UNDERMINERS (Hap and Chris):
Hap Hayward and Chris Morris first started writing and playing together around 1990 in the Nulty Grips, with Peter Crebbin, Lawrence Nulty and David Quick. In 2000, Hayward and Morris continued writing and playing under the guise the Underminers. The Underminers secured a publishing deal with Mushroom records and got some great reviews for their efforts while remaining relatively known only to friends and family. They would record three albums with a rotation of players, the bloody brilliant Lawrence Nulty being there for the crux of them. Hap and Chris have only played a few times since the final album release in 2011.
