Barry James Payne & String Bone
Barry James Payne, known for his Americana and Canadiana-infused music, leads String Bone with his engaging blend of Folk, Alt.Country, Blues, and Rock. Born in London, Ontario, Payne's journey through Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, and finally Stratford has enriched his musical repertoire. The band features Eric Lundgren (Electric guitar), Marc Boisvert (Electric guitar), Geoff Jarvis (bass), and Craig Sharp (drums).
String Bone's music addresses social issues like racism, gun control, the equity gap, and global warming, while also exploring themes of love and personal stories from Payne's experiences in smoky bar rooms with legends like Muddy Waters and James Cotton.
Ron Leary
Ron Leary, with his distinctive smokey, rye-soaked voice, brings a unique perspective to songcraft. His narratives often touch on politics, life's challenges, and moments of joy. Starting his stage career as a six-year-old drummer in his parents' country & western band, The Corn Huskers, Leary now captivates audiences with his acoustic guitar and poetic lyrics.
Leary has independently released five full-length albums and regularly tours nationally within Canada. His notable works include The Road in Between and Tobacco Fields. Over the years, he has performed with acts like The Sadies, Ron Sexsmith, and K’Naan.
