Even if you’ve never danced before, our beginner waltz lesson will have you gliding across the floor with ease before the main event begins.
An Enchanting Evening in Hotel Heron’s Heritage Ballroom
The Heritage Ballroom is the crown jewel of Hotel Heron and the perfect indoor setting for an evening of festive dancing and jazz. With double-height ceilings and grand windows on both sides, this beautiful ballroom exudes timeless charm and elegance, providing a stunning backdrop for a truly unique holiday experience.
Dine at Kiln: Hearth-Inspired Mid-Atlantic Cuisine
Arrive early or stay afterward to savor an exceptional dining experience at Kiln, Hotel Heron’s signature restaurant. Located at the corner of Prince & Washington, Kiln’s open kitchen, featuring a live-fire hearth, invites guests to enjoy hearty, Mid-Atlantic dishes crafted with the season’s finest ingredients. Whether it’s a romantic dinner for two or a festive gathering with friends, Kiln offers a warm, inviting ambiance that perfectly complements the cozy vibes of fall and winter.
Indulge in Festive Treats and Drinks
In addition to the elegant dining experience at Kiln, a variety of holiday desserts, festive cocktails, and fine wine will be available for purchase at the bar during the event. These delightful seasonal treats are the perfect accompaniment to an evening of music and dance.
Requested Attire
At the very least, formal attire is requested to enhance the elegance of the evening and complement the crooner theme. While formal wear is encouraged to match the event's festive and elegant ambiance, we want all our guests to feel comfortable and enjoy the evening.
For Gentlemen: A tuxedo or dark suit and tie are ideal. Bow ties, suspenders, and a fedora can add a vintage crooner flair. Polished dress shoes are recommended.
For Ladies: Evening gowns or chic cocktail dresses are suggested. Styles that reflect the glamour of the 1940s or 50s are particularly fitting. Accessories like gloves, pearls, and vintage clutches can enhance your ensemble.
Parking: Hotel Heron offers convenient parking options for guests; however, to avoid the limitations of street parking in Old Town, we recommend parking at St. Mary’s Basilica, located at 310 S Royal St, Alexandria, VA 22314. From there, it’s a short, scenic walk to Hotel Heron through the historic charm of Old Town Alexandria. Additional street parking may be available nearby, but using St. Mary’s Basilica as a starting point will ensure easier access. For easier travel arrangements, consider using Uber, Lyft, or other ride-sharing services.
