Join us for a magical evening of music and candlelight in The Dollhouse, the brand new event and gathering space at Fire Doll Studio in Downtown Champaign. We are honored to feature the ever graceful and captivating Cameron McGill, a poet and songwriter originally from Champaign, Illinois. He currently lives and writes and plays the piano in Moscow, Idaho. He is the author of Meridians (Willow Springs Books, 2020) and In the Night Field (Augury Books, 2021). His poems have appeared in The American Poetry Review, Beloit Poetry Journal, Mid-American Review, Northwest Review, Raleigh Review, RHINO, and Terrain.org. He has released seven albums, including 2022’s The Widow Cameron.
This performance will be in support of a brand new album!
He holds an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Idaho and is a Scholarly Assistant Professor in the Department of English at Washington State University, where he teaches creative writing and serves as co-director of the Visiting Writers Series.
What to expect: A two hour evening of complete emersion in sound and candlelight. This series aims to bring you music and stories in a truly unique and intimate setting. These concerts will be presented in a listening room format, so there is no talking and phones must be silenced during the performance. There will be an intermission to stretch your legs, check your phone, and enjoy beverages from the Dollhouse bar.
