The Emotions of Color, a Workshop on Color Theory and Design with Caryn Grossman

Ever given thought to how color affects the way you feel? Seen red, felt blue or just plain old tickled pink?

Join us for an evening of creativity and inspiration and prepare to ride the waves of emotion with us! As part of MODA’s Workshop on Color Theory and Design series, we invite you to take a deep dive into how emotions and color collide and coalesce. Led by award-winning interior designer Caryn Grossman, The Emotions of Color, a Workshop on Color Theory and Design will take you on a color-filled journey through time, exploring applications throughout history, cultural significance, design strategies, trends and more.

Registration includes an option to purchase one copy of the book “The Secret Lives of Colour” at a discounted price of $15.

The Emotions of Color, a Workshop on Color Theory and Design is part two of our Workshop on Color Theory and Design series. We’ll start things off with an invitation for you to choose your favorite colors, a brief recap along with some basic applications of the color wheel, then segue into the evocative emotions and trends behind each color selected.

A Workshop on Color Theory and Design series will supply you with the powerful tools to transform any space or project. Whether you’re planning to tackle a single room or an entire home, planning an event, working to build a new business identity, tasked with set decoration for a film, working as an industry creative, or just color curious, you’ll walk away with new skills to create stunning, unified designs with the full spectrum of knowledge.

Stay tuned for part three of a Workshop on Color Theory and Design series with Caryn Grossman on March 12, 2025.

About the Designer:

Caryn Grossman relishes the challenge of discovery, constantly striving for projects that stretch the bounds of her knowledge. She and her team at cg interiors group are driven by boundless curiosity, with each new project presenting an opportunity to explore and create anew. Telling the client’s story is at the heart of everything they do.

Awards include first prize in MODA’s own exhibition, Design Challenge: The South's Next Wave, showcasing the work of top architecture and design firms across the southeast. The firm’s adaptive reuse of two historic warehouses, featuring an interior palette of sustainable materials, received the Atlanta Downtown Design Excellence Award and was a finalist in the SPARK International Design Awards. Caryn has been named Best of Atlanta numerous times, as well as a Top 10 Atlanta Interior Designer. Caryn and her firm were recently named to Architectural Digest’s new AD PRO Directory, a carefully curated and by-invitation-only selection of the country’s top interior design professionals.

Not only an accomplished designer, Caryn is also an inquisitive and enthusiastic teacher, with courses including a special curriculum at alma mater Savannah College of Art and Design, and continuing education courses at Georgia State’s Clayton campus. Teaching, she says, keeps her freshly challenged and constantly learning, imperatives for both her life and her designs.

Caryn is an active member of the American Society of Interior Designers and was also a founding board member of Adopt a Greyhound Atlanta and The Creatives Project, an Atlanta-based nonprofit focused on addressing critical needs in artist housing, arts education, and outreach.
