Investigate the house and meet the family that helped inspire the hit CBS show GHOSTS!
Nestled in the heart of the majestic Allegheny Mountains in central Pennsylvania, the Greek Revival Baker Mansion preserves the history of the ambitious, wealthy and powerful Baker family—while telling a broader tale of the everyday yet extraordinary citizens who shaped Altoona and the surrounding region.
Our ambassadors for the evening, Travel Channel’s Heather Taddy and Beacon TV’s Michael John Angus, are both Altoona natives! They will entertain us with haunted history and their own spooky experiences, then lead us on a guided investigation of the mansion.
Will we encounter the restless spirit of patriarch Elias Baker? Perhaps we’ll see wife Hetty, keeping the mansion and its help in order. The forlorn ghost of daughter Anna is said to dance around to the disembodied sounds of her beloved music box. And we’ll definitely hear the tale and experience the supposedly haunted wedding dress. And of course, we’ll hear about Baker Mansion’s true-life connection to the fictional CBS show GHOSTS.
Join for an unforgettable evening of history, intrigue, spooky tales, and hopefully ghostly encounters inside the magnificent halls of Baker Mansion.
Event includes a meet and great, a presentation by our special guest ambassadors Heather Taddy and Michael John Angus, refreshments, and guided ghost hunt of three levels of the mansion. Limited to 25 guests.
