Description
The Seventh Example is a historical production originally written and directed by Fred Taylor in 1992 in honor of Black History Month.
The play starts when a spoiled student goes on a field trip to learn about Seven Examples of Black History, in a museum that comes alive.
Listen to the stories of people who come alive, through the laughter and the tears, with dance, music and poetry. (no drug and alcohol message in the Billie Holiday scene)
There is comedy and drama in this play. Among the many important messages this play has in it is the story of Billy Holiday, a beautiful and talented human being who was taken from this earth too soon because of addiction to drugs and alcohol.
This play is appropriate for all ages, and we hope that the tougher scenes create a launchpad for discussions among families with children about the dangers of drugs and alcohol.
Fred Taylor's FamFest USA was created to bring the theater experience to the local population and open up theater to the urban community.
