Exploring micro-ism, minimalism, macro-ism, maximalism, music technology, trumpet, vocals and bass, this remarkable musical entity brings a satisfying sense of long-form development… impromptu musical offerings, suffused with a warm humanity, their musical journeys are studded with minor epiphanies on the way to a major sense of emotional fulfilment. A performing unit that reaches into a universal sonic territory … their music is redefining the art of improvisation, creatively arriving and departing from some unknown abstract source. A creative magical music entity masquerading in DJ, Musicians and Technology guisethis Australian group delivers long-form improvisations shifting and turning with sonic waves of pulsing rhythms, evolving harmonies and yearning melodies. You’ll seldom spend time that passes so quickly and rewardingly.
THE SOLO LOUNGE is a Ballarat Concert Series created to showcase local Australian music in the incredible atmosphere of the 1887 Heritage-listed Ballarat Trades Hall.
Recent technical upgrades to Trades Hall supported by Creative Victoria have assisted in the creation of a lush performance space with top quality lighting and sound to showcase our local and touring performers.
You are not just seeing someone play guitar in the corner while live sport is on in the background or struggling to be heard over the loud folks at the Bar – the whole show is about listening to the performer and giving them the respect of a true Concert setting.
These shows are a dream for local solo performers and we are endeavouring to document as much of the series as possible with our partners H Squared Studios.
The Artist fees (only) for the Series have been supported by The Victorian Government’s
‘10,000 Gig Program’ . Promotion, Design and Production are supported by Ballarat Regional Trades and Labour Council and H Squared Studios.
