TRUDY FATNOWNA EDGELEY
Trudy’s rich ancestry is of Yidinji, South Sea Islander, Jamaican and Irish heritage. This unique lineage and love for country gives her a deep cultural platform to share stories through art, music, and theatre. Trudy's haunting vocals, melodies, tropical tempos & tribal beats reflects her desire to tell the stories of her rich ancestry from the canefields of Far North Queensland to the shores of Jamaica. This results in well crafted songs that have the added interest of fascinating stories which have been seldom told.
PHIL EDGELEY
Phil Edgeley's (Weissenborn, Acoustic, Resophonic Guitars/Vocals) British Folk/Roots suit his songwriting & music style. Phil has released 3 albums to date, “This Life” (2005) “Then and Now” (2007) and “In the Blood” (2011). Phil and Trudy's duo album, “OnePlusOneEqualsThree” (2014) is their current work.
THE SOLO LOUNGE is a Ballarat Concert Series created to showcase local Australian music in the incredible atmosphere of the 1887 Heritage-listed Ballarat Trades Hall.
Recent technical upgrades to Trades Hall supported by Creative Victoria have assisted in the creation of a lush performance space with top quality lighting and sound to showcase our local and touring performers.
You are not just seeing someone play guitar in the corner while live sport is on in the background or struggling to be heard over the loud folks at the Bar – the whole show is about listening to the performer and giving them the respect of a true Concert setting.
These shows are a dream for local solo performers and we are endeavouring to document as much of the series as possible with our partners H Squared Studios.
The Artist fees (only) for the Series have been supported by The Victorian Government’s
‘10,000 Gig Program’ . Promotion, Design and Production are supported by Ballarat Regional Trades and Labour Council and H Squared Studios.
We hope you can buy a ticket and get along to support the artists and the series.
There have been a sea of local venues presenting live music that have closed down in the last 5 years - if you want to see live music in Ballarat, please get out there and support the few Venues that are continuing to support live music.
