With its multi-venue performing and visual arts centers located in Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley, California, the Hi-Desert Cultural Center (HDCC) has been serving as the regional performing and visual arts organization and arts agency for the Joshua Tree National Park region for more than half a century. Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Joshua Tree Philharmonic presents favorite music from the 80s including classical masterpieces that became a part of the 80s cinematic and theatrical culture. "The Thrilling 80s"—running May 10-12, 2024!
Music selections from the new concert series features U2’s I STILL HAVEN’T FOUND WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR; Sergei Rachmaninoff's RHAPSODY ON A THEME OF PAGANINI and John Barry's main theme to SOMEWHERE IN TIME; Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's SYMPHONY NO. 25 IN G MINOR (1ST MOVEMENT) and selections of REQUIEM IN D MINOR from the movie, AMADEUS; selections from Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA; Bon Jovi's YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME and LIVIN' ON A PRAYER; Journey's DON'T STOP BELIEVIN'; Survivor's EYE OF THE TIGER; Ah-Ha's TAKE ON ME; Michael Jackson's THRILLER; and Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine's CONGA!
