Description

THE TROJAN WOMEN

September 6, 7, 13, 14 at 7:30 pm
September 8, 15 at 2:00 pm

By Euripides, translated by Nicholas Rudall
Directed by Lori C.Siekmann
Choreographed by Susanna Vaughan
Original Music by Diane King Vann

The Trojan Women is one of the oldest anti-war plays, first performed in 415 B. C. This contemporary translation by Nicholas Rudall connects it to the stark reality of current events. Through movement and music, the text comes alive to thrust us into the pain of innocent victims of war. We follow the women of Troy as they await their fate, experiencing the grief, anger, and humiliation they suffer at the hands of their captors. This masterpiece of pathos has much to say to us today.
