Description

Program 1: The Role of Museums in Fighting Antisemitism

What do a museum in Poland and a synagogue in New York have in common with fighting antisemitism? Museums are no longer static collections, but have an active role in social issues. Join Barbara Kirshenblatt-Gimblett, chief curator of the Polin Museum in Warsaw, for a lecture and discussion on how museums fight modern antisemitism both in the United States and internationally.

Program 2: Ordinary People, Extraordinary Acts

How are ordinary Poles fighting antisemitism and protecting Jewish heritage/people fighting antisemitism on the ground.

Program 3:  From Shtetl to Post-Jewish Town: an inside peek at Polin Museum’s new exhibit

The heart of this exhibit is the struggle societies have with confronting a difficult past. Fighting in the US, where the Holocaust didn’t happen, is vastly different than fighting it in Poland, which was the epicentre.
