A week-long camp for 7-12-year-olds set in the Historic Village in Brownington, VT.
Monday-Thursday 9 am - 3 pm & Friday Family Day 9 am - 12 pm
Campers will take a step back in time and explore how communities came together for celebrations! This year’s focus will be on neighbors working together and celebrating together.
From the beginning of time, celebrations have focused on the strength of community talents and connections. Stable, creative, supportive, and inclusive celebrations provided well-being to an individual’s and community's ability to thrive.
This year's camp will explore county fairs, barter fairs, pageants, and skill shares. The camp will culminate with a parade (a historic New England tradition of homemade instruments, music, banners, humor, and even (appropriate) mockery) celebrating the community and marking a variety of events. Campers will improve team-building skills, collaborate artistically, and theatrically celebrate community.
Activities include camp favorites such as animal husbandry, outdoor cooking, theater, music, and blacksmithing. Camp culminates with a parent potluck and parade!
