UMC Foundation is proud to partner with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library and Storied, Inc. to launch a book gifting program for pediatric patients at UMC Children’s Hospital. Through this revolutionary program from the beloved country music superstar, families will be mailed a complimentary age-appropriate book each month for one year, thanks to funding from generous donors. This program is available for children from birth to 5.

 

The books are specially selected each month by a committee of early childhood literacy experts with a goal to inspire self-esteem and a love of learning early in life.

 

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library began in 1995 to benefit children in Dolly Parton’s home county of East Tennessee. Dolly’s vision was to foster a love of reading among her county’s preschool children and their families by providing them with the gift of a specially selected book each month. By mailing high quality, age-appropriate books directly to their homes, she wanted children to be excited about books and to feel the magic that books can create. Moreover, she could ensure that every child would have books, regardless of their family’s income. Since it was established, the Imagination Library has gifted more than 221 million books to children in the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom.

By registering, I hereby explicitly consent to allow the Dollywood Foundation, Inc. to use the information provided herein for the purposes of participating in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library book gifting program. To measure the benefits of this program we may create datasets with the information provided herein and share them with research and educational advancement partners. By continuing this registration, you expressly consent to the terms set forth herein.

 

ELIGIBILITY

• Age requirement for a child to register: Newborn - 5 years old ONLY.
• To ensure proper delivery of books; make certain your child is registered with your address.
• Make certain the email address used to register your child with us is valid so that we may contact you should we have questions regarding your child’s registration.
• Child will receive one free book each month for one year.
