Description
Directed by Delta resident Peter Ambrose THE UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN is a NEW adaptation of the classic Meredith Willson musical. This full-length production features a cast of 21 local men and women led by Julie Laube of Montrose as Molly. Julie has extensive stage experience on the Western Slope and beyond, having most recently performed at Montrose Magic Circle Players in THE SOUND OF MUSIC and SPAMALOT, as well as THE TAMING OF THE SHREW at Fort Uncompahgre. Dalyn Pearson, another Western Slope talent, portrays the love of Molly’s life, miner J.J. Brown. Dalyn was last featured in Magic Circle’s NOISES OFF and will soon be featured in their production of A GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER.
Hotchkiss K-8 and North Fork High School Music Teacher Beki Neil serves as Music Director, assisted by her husband, Delta Middle and High School Choir Teacher Thomas Neil, who also plays lovelorn miner Vincenzo. The cast includes many performers from the Arts Council of Delta County 2020 production of ARSENIC AND OLD LACE, presented at the Delta Performing Arts Center, and A COMEDY OF ERRORS, presented at Fort Uncompahgre, including Bob Allyn, Boone Byers, Jakub Stack and Zoe Wood. Linda Dysart of Cedaredge conceived the amazing choreography, and Mary Grosvenor of Delta designed costumes and set and assisted the production in countless other areas.
