For this Valentine's Day, we are offering several one-time classes in handbuilding! Choose from Feb 13, 14, or 15. 
 

Bring a friend, partner, or just yourself for a fun evening of creating in clay. Make one of our projects or your own - trinket dishes, plant pockets, cheese boards, mugs, and more!
 

You may bring your own drinks and snacks and enjoy a relaxing 2 hours of making something out of clay without the hassle of the potter's wheel. We have tons of projects to choose from or bring your own ideas with you!

What is Handbuilding?

Handbuilding is a traditional method of creating with clay in which you use your hands and a slab of clay instead of a potter's wheel. If you're new to pottery, this is a very approachable way to get to know clay as an artistic medium. 

In this one-evening class you will have access to our white stoneware clay, all of our handbuilding tools and textures, and a selection of underglazes and glazes. Included in the class cost is 400 cubic inches of space (approximately a shoe box) and if you're on a roll and want to make more, then it's just $10 to fill another one. 

Everything you make can be food safe! 
 

About your teacher

 

Roxane loves all aspects of pottery - handbuilding, wheel, glazing, and especially uncommon methods. Outside of the studio, she spends time with her spouse, child, and dog. She is the owner of Community Clay. 

 

The Fine Print

Please note that classes are non-refundable. Pieces are usually ready to be picked up 4 weeks after the final class. While there are no guarantees in ceramics, most students do end up with 2 or more pieces at the end of the course.
 

Oops, I purchased the wrong class! Can I switch?

Unfortunately, we are limited by physical space. Our classes fill quickly and we don't have the ability to change once the class roster has been filled. We may be able to refund you and open the class space up to another person.
 

I had a scheduling issue after signing up!

Very occasionally, we can switch you to a different class or give a refund, though it is not common or guaranteed.
