VISAGES OF NICK explores the many faces of Christmas throughout the ages. Setting off from the 4th-century music of St. Ambrose in Milan we venture to medieval France and England of the Renaissance with music by Lenoin and Josquin des Prez. As we cross over into the New World, we showcase popular Spanish carols from Latin America, new settings of beloved traditional carols by North American composers, and the re-imagining of The Nutcracker though the eyes of the great Duke Ellington.
John Gaudette, Painter and Printmaker
Mr. Gaudette’s main medium is stone lithography and he has had several exhibits in Canada and the U.S. In addition to being a visual artist, Mr. Gaudette is a professional bassoonist and teaches at Northern Illinois University and the University of Illinois at Chicago.
