Description
Come be inspired by the advocators and upstarts, the writers and musicians, and benevolent women's clubs that have educated and enlightened the Elm City from the 1800s to the present during our next “What's in the Whitney Library” program, “Women of the Whitney!” Sat., March 22, 2025, 12-4 p.m.!
This treasure trove of women’s history includes the collections of the League of Women Voters, Catherine G. Roraback, and St. Ambrose Music Club and much, much more! We’ll peruse women’s diaries and letters, the collections of authors, a landscape designer, including a Roaring Twenties actress known for “dominating every minute”!
The Whitney Library in the New Haven Museum is open to anyone interested in the past of the city of New Haven. With tens of thousands of documents, books, and archives, the Whitney Library is the most expansive collection of New Haven texts in the city.
