Description
Learn about the incredible diversity of turtles, some extraordinary adaptations, and how researchers find turtles in the wild. This webinar will introduce native turtle species from the Midwest, many of which can be found while hiking around the Dunes. We will discuss fun facts about these species and what habitats they live in. We will then focus in on the conservation of the state-endangered Blanding’s turtle. Strategies that researchers use to study these turtles will be discussed, as well as how this information can help conserve turtle populations.
