Description

Whiskey Jack band leader and banjo player Duncan Fremlin began to tour and record with Stompin' Tom in 1990.  Then in 1993, Duncan and his band Whiskey Jack teamed up with Stompin' Tom and began a cross Canada tour in Ottawa at Tom's historic Canada Day, Parliament Hill show.   Tom and Whiskey Jack continued to tour, perform and record together until Tom's death in 2013.

Joining Whiskey Jack at their first Red Bird show is Tom's long time fiddler, from PEI, Billy McInnis.  On guitar is Douglas John Cameron, Juno nominee for his songs Mona With The Children (1985) and Ants in Your Pants (1994). His theatrical and dynamic approach to performing, coupled with his talents on many instruments bring an endless supply of energy to this already dynamic band.  James McEleney, no stranger to the Redbird Live stage, will hold it all together on bass.

This show, now in its 10th year, is based on Duncan's best selling book,

My Good Times With Stompin' Tom

Highlighting the first show will be a song co-written by Tom Connors, Gate Lepine, Duncan Fremlin and Douglas John Cameron.  It's called Snarly's Hill.
