Description

This hands on class will teach you how to correctly glue wood like the professionals do.  You'll learn the theory and practice of effective and efficient gluing of wood for any common gluing project, resulting in a cutting board you can take home. All materials are provided and no prior experience is needed.

Participants will create and lay out a design (12"x 18" maximum size) of assorted hardwoods, prepare the wood for gluing, glue up the components using best practices and a variety of clamps, and learn how to use some of the more common shop tools (like the miter saw, band saw, jointer and planer) to make your own unique cutting board. After a short break where your components will dry - we'll plane, cut, and sand your finished cutting board.

Meet Our Instructor: John Lunde
With 15 years experience as a professional furniture maker and a manager of an architectural woodworking shop, John is excited to share his skills  and pass along his knowledge to the MTL community.
