Why should I participate in Yoga Nidra? This yoga practice helps you consciously relax, by finding the threshold state between sleep and wakefulness where awareness is turned inward and external senses are diminished. It’s restorative and gentle, allowing a weary and hurting body, mind, and heart to rest and heal. Some studies say that 30 minutes of yoga nidra practice equate to 4 hours of REM sleep.

What should I expect?  This is a highly accessible practice. Much like a guided meditation, the only effort required is to get yourself set up in a quiet, dim space where you can be uninterrupted and either sit or lie down comfortably to listen to the guide. It’s most common to lay flat on the floor for yoga nidra, on a blanket or yoga mat, but you can also rest in a recliner or even on a bed or sofa. It can feel nurturing to light some candles or have some essential oils nearby or in a diffuser.

You will receive an email in the afternoon on the day of the event. In that email, there will be a Zoom link that you will use to participate in the evening course. Be sure that you have a reliable internet connection!

Is there a fee to participate? The cost to participate in this virtual event is $10 per person. If you would like to participate, but are unable to cover the fee, scholarship options are available. Likewise, if you are able to give a bit more, it would allow for others to participate who might not be able to otherwise. We hope that this program is accessible to all who need this support.
