Yoga on The Mount
Get ready for yoga with a view this summer!
Starting Wednesday, May 29th, join Melanie as she hosts a 60 minute yoga flow on the Patrick T. Fagan overlook (where Shiloh St. meets Grandview Ave.).
She will host 2 sessions per week, all summer long.
On Tuesdays, participants can enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the sunrise over the city while practicing yoga.
On Wednesdays, participants can enjoy Happy Hour pricing at Gordo’s Tacos & Tequila located on Shiloh Street. this includes $3 off margaritas, 1/2 off wine, and 1/2 off drafts.
Whether you're a seasoned yogi or a beginner, this event is designed to provide a unique and fun yoga experience for all skill levels.
About Melanie:
Melanie was born and raised in Pittsburgh. She studied Education and Dance at Elon University in North Carolina. Growing up, she was very active in gymnastics and cheerleading. While in college, she began practicing yoga. Initially, she fell in love with the physical benefits of yoga. Soon she realized how much of a positive impact yoga had on all areas of life, including her mental health and well-being.
In 2013, Melanie attended her Level 1 Yoga Teacher Training in Pittsburgh, PA. In 2018, she completed a 300-hour online training for Yoga & Psychology. In 2019, she attended Level 2 Yoga Teacher Training in Tulum, Mexico.
Since college, Melanie has worked a wide variety of jobs but teaching yoga has always been a constant for her. She lived and work abroad for Disney Cruise Line where she worked in entertainment. She has years of experience teaching elementary school children. In 2021, Melanie helped create a yoga program for children at a local special needs school for children experiencing trauma.
She has done personal training and has taught yoga, cycling, and barre classes. Over the years, she’s worked for many well-known franchises including LA Fitness, PureBarre, CycleBar, & Amazing Yoga.
Currently, she teaches yoga at Ignite Yoga in Wexford. You can also find her at The Stretch Lab in the Strip District, providing 1:1 assisted stretching to clients. She hosts yoga retreats internationally. She also hosts outdoor classes in her home neighborhood of Mount Washington. Melanie teaches a power vinyasa-flow style of yoga and is excited to share her practice with you all this summer!
